(CBN / Worthy News)-- The case of Meriam Ibrahim, the Christian Sudanese mom who was recently freed from prison after being sentenced to death for apostasy, remains in legal limbo.

Ibrahim and her husband are facing charges for trying to leave the country using falsified travel documents, which U.S. authorities insist are all in proper order.

The family is currently under protective custody at the U.S. Embassy in Sudan as they wait for the Sudanese government to grant them permission to leave the North African country. -- Source
