ABUJA, NIGERIA (Worthy News)-- Islamist herdsmen who had previously widowed a Christian mother of five have now killed her current husband on New Year's Eve, according to Morning Star News.

As Faith Kore Usman and other Christians were praising God near the Church Of Christ In Nigeria in Maihakorin village, Plateau state, about five Fulani herdsmen took aim and shot at them.

"I have placed my faith in God and am waiting on Him to comfort me and keep me and these five children," Usman told Morning Star.

Luka Tejan, the widowed husband of Naomi Tejan who was also killed in the attack, told Morning Star that the murders of Christians by Muslims were evil acts aimed at stopping the spread of the gospel.

"The devil has been using these Fulanis to kill Christians," said Tejan. "The good thing is that we have hope that in spite of the pains, the suffering and the tears, we shall overcome in Jesus' name."

The gunfire directed at this Christian community was the fourth attack by Muslims in just over two years; as a result, the church's daily Bible study and fellowship activities have ended.
