Nepal: Maoist Rebels Threaten Missionaries

Friday, December 6, 2002

A missionary leader in Nepal reports that he and his missionaries are being threatened by Maoist rebels.

Maoists approached one missionary and demanded a donation. "Once they know who you are, they force you to take sides," the mission leader told Christian Aid.

The leader said that there were no Maoists in that village a year or two ago, but that now they have set up their own government there.

Unknown persons also have been asking for the leader himself, but so far he has remained undetected.

Please pray for native missionaries and their leaders in Nepal who are facing difficult days.
