NEW DELHI (Worthy News)-- A group of Christians were brutally attacked and beaten by Hindus for singing Christmas carols in Singareny Colony, India, according to International Christian Concern.

Pastor Bhim Nayak of Banjara Baptist Church and fifteen of his congregation were singing to other Christian families during the evening hours of Dec. 13 when around thirty Hindus surrounded their vehicle and accused them of trying to convert Hindus to Christianity by caroling. They then smashed the vehicle's windows and dragged the carolers out into the street where they were severely beaten with sticks and clubs.

Nayak and four other were taken to a local clinic where they received first aid; they were then taken to a hospital for further medical care.

In response, ICC has launched a petition calling on India's government to stop the attacks on its Christian community; ICC has also assisted Nayak and the others injured in the attack by covering the cost of their medical treatments.
