(Worthy News) - A well-known Egyptian human rights activist was arrested at his home in Cairo last week.

According to International Christian Concern, Mina Thabet -- an advocate for Egypt's Christian community -- had been arrested for membership in a "terrorist group" that practices illegal public assembly.
Thabet was just one in a series of arrests last month in Egypt following protests about its government's decision to relinquish the Red Sea Islands to Saudi Arabia.
William Stark, regional manager for South Asia, said ICC condemned Thabet's arrest and the charges against him.
"While Egypt has reason to heighten security concerning terror cells, they should be working with human rights activists and not against them...."
