iraq christian newsKIRKUK, IRAQ (Worthy News)-- Kirkuk police recently report that they deactivated an explosive device left near the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in the Almass district of Kirkuk.

The bomb, which was placed next to the wall of the church, was composed of petrol, Curtin explosive and blasting caps.

A team of police explosives experts dismantled the device without damaging the church or any surrounding buildings.

In recent weeks, Kirkuk has been subjected to a series of car bombings aimed at its churches; two churches were bombed while explosives intended for two other churches failed to explode.
